Future Prospects
Medicine in the future will inevitably provide individualized medical treatment, health promotion, and health management with the goal of establishing holistic care. Furthermore, all the while with excellent humanitarian care as the goal, the foundation of operational management will be electronic information and biotechnology. The need for internationalization will require hospitals to be run with seamless integration. To prepare itself for the future, NTUH has already begun to adapt to the progress of times and the changes in the environment, by transforming organizational structure and developing more innovative R&D, improving internal operating processes, and increasing medical quality, efficiency, and effectiveness, in order to continue to make clients satisfied and earn their trust.consider who we are, what we are doing now, what we want to become, how we can
change to fit our vision of future needs, and how we will get there.
In response to the growth of the NTUH medical system, plans for the establishment of a mutual support system have already been made. Mutual administrative support and shared information can have a synergistic effect so that the medical care system can achieve better allocation of resources and capabilities. In addition, in order to facilitate the branches in focusing on its featured medical care and research development, the Taipei Main Hospital will play a coordinating role by allocating and dispatching personnel, making the NTUH medical system have more solid training and better use of talent and in turn exploring new capabilities from these undertakings. Tomorrow’s foundation comes from today’s hard work. In order to achieve the ideal goal, NTUH will continue to improve its operation and management system, create a quality environment for medical education and develop new prospects for R&D and innovative medical care services.
NTUH will continue to uphold its social responsibilities. Over the past century, NTUH has been trusted by all corners of society because it has been concerned about and guiding medical care policies and social reforms in the development of Taiwan, playing a pivotal role in influencing the pulse of society. Therefore, whether with respect to medical teaching, research, and service, all of them must be able to display the example and courage of “having a compassionate heart and offering yourself for others” and to actively participate in the nation’s public affairs. These include domestic health care insurance policy reforms, medical education policy formulation, education training programs for doctors and other medical staff, enhancement of medical care quality and patient safety environment, improvement in hospital accreditation, and public education and humanitarian care, while at the same time maintaining an innovative drive. On top of this, collaboration with colleges and schools of National Taiwan University and with research and develop institutions from domestic and worldwide will indeed create yet more excellent results in biomedical research to benefit local residents and people worldwide.
